About Me

Hey hey, I’m Makyna Elise. I’m a Minnesota girl with a heart of gold, who decided to trade cornfields and snowflakes for palm trees and sunshine. I mean, why settle for cornfields when you can bask in the golden glow of California, am I right? During COVID-19, I packed my bags, bid farewell to the land of 10,000 lakes, and set off on a nerve-wracking adventure to Northern California. 

When I'm not busy running my business, I'm knee deep in being a wife to my husband, Austin and a momma to our little Teddy. Whether we're playing on the floor, sipping coffee and laughing till our sides hurt, or sitting along the shoreline, we're just trying to live life to the fullest — and honestly, experiencing it all through fresh eyes makes it even sweeter.

Here’s how I got started…

At the ripe young age of 15 years old, my uncle let me tag along with him to a social media brand strategy workshop in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I fell in love with all things personal branding, content creation, and social media management. I begged my uncle to hire me so I could put into action all the things I learned while attending the workshop with him! It was a perfect way to test out my newfound love and skills while also pocketing some spending money ($100 is a lot when you’re 15).

Throughout high school, I managed my own blog, taught myself how to build websites in Weebly, WordPress, and Wix, and even figured out how to transfer a domain from GoDaddy to its newly created website (thank goodness for Google). I would ask my mom to drive me to our local coffee shop, where I meet family-friends who needed help transforming or posting to their business pages. Thanks mom for supporting my 15-year-old dreams.

Fast Forward to Present Day…

In one of the busiest seasons of my life. It is critical to me that I have the flexibility to make my own schedule and to pick up projects as motherhood allows for it. With my passion for planning, creating, and managing, I am able to run my business anywhere. I know what it’s like to be a preoccupied business owner, wondering where the heck to start.
